Everything In Its Right Place

Gray: Rod, come on let’s go we gotta keep moving. We’ve lost some time sidetracking because of you as usual.
Rod:
Gray: You’re useless most of the time. No, make that all the time. I don’t know why I bother with you.
Rod:
Gray: Useless, just useless, Rod. I am just here by myself. Now listen, Rod. I think with this map that I have we can find our way. I know the map is not very clear. I know it may not be very accurate, but I doubt you have a better idea.

Gray: Rod, you’ve been very good. Now let’s carry on.
Rod: I’m hungry.
Gray: Oh Rod, not again.
Rod: I’m hungry and you have no idea where we’re going.
Gray: Rod, you’re slowing me down. You always have. Let’s just carry on, we might figure out where we’re going after all.
Rod: I’m hungry.
Gray: Rod, you’ve been good for a while now. Can’t you hold on for longer? Maybe we’ll find something along our way.
Rod: You know that won’t happen. We’ve never found something along the way.
Gray: Don’t deny that it’s possible. It’ll be much more enjoyable if you eat because you like what you see not because you’re hungry.
Rod: You’re just as hungry as I am.
Gray: You’re wrong Rod. I can do this without ever putting a thing in my mouth.
Rod: You’re lying to yourself.
Gray: You only talk when you’re hungry, Rod. Frankly I’m tired of you. The only thing you do is complain that you’re hungry. You haven’t done anything useful since we’ve met. Not a thing, Rod. Not a thing.
Rod: I keep you full.
Gray: I’m not hungry.
Rod: Of course you are. Just imagine devouring an apple for example… or meat.
Gray: I don’t want to.
Rod: Imagine it in your mouth… and that priceless satisfaction you feel as you swallow it.
Gray: Ok ok.

Gray: I hate you, Rod.
Rod:
Gray: Quiet and sleepy when you’re full huh?
Rod:
Gray: Now honestly Rod, do you think you enjoyed that? It was utterly disgusting. I don’t wanna eat ever again.
Rod:
Gray: Sometimes I wish I can just get rid of you. I know I’ll fair much better without you.
Rod:
Gray: The truth is, I don’t know if I can really get rid you or not.
Rod:
Gray: Remember when you disappeared for a few months? I thought you were gone, but then you came back.
Rod:
Gray: Those were happy days that I’ll remember fondly, Rod. They remind me of my days before I met you.
Rod: When I was gone you were just as lost.
Gray: Ah… you’re awake now?
Rod: Can’t you tell?
Gray: See. You’re distracting me. You keep me occupied with what is so trivial.
Rod: Don’t call it trivial. We can’t go on without it.
Gray: I can. I went on without eating for months when you disappeared.
Rod: And where did that take you? You’re with me now, and you eat when I do.
Gray: You don’t get it. Every time we follow your whims we lose focus of the goal, we lose the map.
Rod: You drew that map.
Gray: I don’t like this conversation.
Rod: That is because you know I’m right.
Gray: No, it’s because I am not sure if I can get rid of you or not. And I’d hate to have to argue with you like this every time you get hungry.
Rod: Let’s just eat and figure it out later.

Gray: You beat me every time Rod. I don’t know how you do it.
Rod:
Gray: My frustrations with you do consume some of my energy and time , you know?
Rod:
Gray: You’re downright useless, Rod. That’s the difference between you and me. You’re one-dimensional. All you think about is eating and food.
Rod:
Gray: I am not like you, Rod. In fact, I don’t know why we’re together. I can get us somewhere, Rod. I can think… I can look at maps… I can draw one up… I can take us places. And I can do this much better without you… or if you don’t complain.
Rod: You make me feel like I’ve been eating alone all this time!!
Gray: Are you denying your responsibility?
Rod: I’m saying you’re just as responsible. Be honest to yourself, don’t throw it all on me.
Gray: Rod, shut up. You just want to eat.
Rod: Exactly!
Gray: Ok Rod. Let’s go eat. I can’t think straight when you’re hungry. I need you to shut up.
Rod: That’s a good excuse.
