Climbing Up The Walls

There was 7 of us when my close friend Volks said,

The first rule is that, except your mother, every woman is a whore. Every woman has a whore inside, sometimes a little whore, and sometimes a big one.

Nobody objected at all to what was said. The reaction was a mix between laughter and approval. I was disgusted inside but didn't know where to start. This is what I was able to say,

Your problem is that you view women as less than men.

To which he responded immediately,

Yes, of course.

I was not in the mood of arguing and the time wasn't right, so I decided to keep it inside for now. I couldn't get it out of my head. I kept my wondering if these views are somehow related to the mass sexual assaults that happened in Cairo last month.

In other news, I went to a concert for Omar Khayrat at the Culture Wheel and it was great. It started out slow but it picked up considerably. Khayrat is a great musician and a very talented pianist. The Oud solo was perfect. I just wish he had a guitarist in the band.

About wishing for a guitarist in the band.. I really understand and it's a constant desire I have when I listen to good music, but my wishes extend to wanting an extended solo even when there is a guitarist.

As for the the woman whore theory.. heard it so many times before, it just basically means that all women are whores before they become mothers.. once they give birth legitimately their whoredom goes away..

These chats lead nowhere cause you can't argue with logic, their basis is never logic in the first place.. it's like a duel between a man with a gun and a man with a sword, and you shoot the man with the sword but the prick won't believe he's dead, he'll just go on waving his sword..

Pinky, you know it's nothing personal right? I can explain to you why I did that later :).

Willie, the 'whoredom' has nothing to do with giving birth. The mother exception in the quote is only there for courtesy... so that the speaker does not insult the listeners.

I've heard the all women are whores theory
it's true that mostly they don't see women as equal to men, but also most of those who think like that, think of women as sexual objects, and that makes all women in the whore category except the ones with what they might consider sacred, as u said out of courtsy it'd be the mother, and maybe the sister
it's quite digusting!
and yes think that as long as they see us as a walking-talking sexual toys, then things like the down town harrasement would just hppen all the time, and they'd always be justified for them as "they brought it upon themselves"

Well Eastern men value their mothers a lot and that's why they don't dare see them as such, so I don't think it's politeness rather it's that habit of applying double measures that usually result in discrimination be it in this topic or any other.. It's a sign of an internal struggle they have cause of how much they love women and what they've been taught about them..

Well most women are mothers, daughters and sisters.. so where does that leave us really? It just shows hypocricy rather than politeness is what I say.. only they are truly lost and can't see it as hypocricy.

Here's a good theory I might append to theirs.. with the exception of people you know and like.. all people are bastards..

Despicable.

I just don't understand what kind of mentality people who say things like that possess.

I've known males who attempt to sleep with any girl that they find physically attractive... and they've gotten quite good at it.

I find it repulsive that they speak of the girl as if she were a tramp after this has occurred.

I don't think it's double standards as much as evilness. I don't care how anyone views it.

It's repulsive and disgusting how they talk/think that way. They deserve to be burned AND buried alive. Just for that.
